Privacy Policy
Our Constitution guarantees the secrecy and freedom of private life and communications as a fundamental right. Therefore, covert surveillance such as wiretapping or eavesdropping to collect personal information or invade privacy is, in principle, illegal. Nevertheless, illegal wiretapping and leakage of information in communications have become prevalent in our society, causing serious human rights violations and threatening individuals’ freedom to live their daily lives.
To fundamentally eliminate the possibility of such infringements of basic rights and to thoroughly protect the privacy of Baobab Care members, thereby guaranteeing freedom of communication in the information society, we set forth the following Privacy Policy. The Baobab Care Privacy Policy may change according to amendments to government laws and guidelines or changes in Baobab Care’s internal policies. Please check it from time to time when you visit the Baobab Care website.
1. Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information
The purpose of collecting members’ personal information at Baobab Care is to provide you with the most optimized and personalized services through the Baobab Care website. Baobab Care provides various content both free of charge and for a fee. Based on the personal information you provide, we can selectively offer information that is more useful to you.
To provide various services, Baobab Care also displays advertisements. Even in such cases, based on your personal information, we can selectively deliver advertisements that are more valuable and relevant to you.
2. Items of Personal Information Collected and Collection Methods
At the time of initial registration, Baobab Care collects the minimum essential personal information necessary to provide services. The information collected at sign-up includes your Name, Address, Photo, ID, Birthday, Gender, Cell phone, e-mail, Password, etc.
In addition, we may request additional information in order to provide certain services.
For real-name verification we may request a mobile phone number, and we may request other additional information necessary to provide services. We may also request personal information for the purposes of aggregated statistical analysis during surveys or events, or for prize shipment. Even in such cases, the information you provide will not be used for any purpose other than providing the relevant service or the purpose disclosed to you in advance.
3. Retention and Disposal of Personal Information
While you are a member of Baobab Care and receive services provided by Baobab Care, your personal information will be retained by Baobab Care and used to provide those services. However, if you delete your ID or request to terminate your membership according to the procedures described in Section “7. Viewing, Correcting, and Deleting Your Personal Information,” or if the purpose for which your personal information was previously notified to you has been fulfilled, the collected personal information will be completely deleted from our hard drives by irreversible methods and will be processed so that it cannot be viewed or used for any purpose.
4. Provision and Sharing of Personal Information
In principle, Baobab Care does not disclose members’ personal information to others or to external companies/institutions. However, exceptions may be made where you have consented to disclosure, or where there is sufficient reason to disclose personal information in order to take legal action against individuals who violate Baobab Care’s Terms of Service, cause legal harm to others, or offend public morals using Baobab Care’s services.
To provide better services, Baobab Care may share your personal information with business partners. Even in such cases, prior to collecting or providing information, we will inform you who the business partner is, what information is needed and why, and how and until when the information will be protected/managed, and we will obtain your consent. If you do not consent, we will not collect additional information or share it with business partners.
When displaying or sending advertisements targeted to specific demographic groups (e.g., women in their 20s), your individual personal information is not provided to the advertiser or organization. For other cases such as statistical processing, academic research, or market research, information is provided only in a form that does not identify specific individuals.
5. Use and Operation of Cookies
To provide each member with personalized and customized services, Baobab Care uses “cookies,” which store your information and retrieve it as needed. A cookie is a small packet of data sent by the server operating the website to your browser and stored on your computer’s hard drive.
After accessing Baobab Care, you must allow cookies in order to use personalized or customized services when you log in. Baobab Care uses cookies to retrieve information related to your ID to provide services that are appropriate and more useful to you.
By assigning a unique cookie to the browser of each user accessing Baobab Care, we also use cookies to understand usage scale, such as visit frequency by members/non-members and total number of users on the Baobab Care site. Cookie information is also used for authentication or assistance when purchasing products in Baobab Care Shopping, and to confirm your participation history in events or surveys.
By using cookies to understand your visits and usage patterns of Baobab Care services, we can provide services that are more useful and convenient for you.
You have the option to accept cookies. By configuring your web browser options, you can allow all cookies, confirm each time a cookie is stored, or reject all cookies. However, if you refuse to store cookies, you will not be able to use any Baobab Care services that require login.
6. Technical and Administrative Measures for Personal Information Protection
Your personal information is protected by a password. Only you know the password for your account, and only you can view or change your personal information. Therefore, you must not disclose your password to anyone. After finishing your tasks, it is advisable to log out and close your web browser. This is especially important when sharing a computer with others or using a public computer, to prevent your personal information from being exposed to others.
Baobab Care takes measures to prevent damage caused by computer viruses by using antivirus programs. Antivirus programs are updated periodically, and if a new virus appears, the program is provided as soon as it becomes available to prevent damage to personal information.
To prevent leakage of personal information due to hacking, we use systems that block external intrusions and protect against external attacks and hacking. Intrusion detection systems are installed on each server to monitor intrusions 24/7. We also back up systems and data to prepare for any contingencies that might damage members’ personal information.
Baobab Care limits the number of employees who handle personal information to the minimum necessary and emphasizes compliance with this policy through regular training of the responsible staff. Through audits by the audit committee, we verify the implementation of this policy and employee compliance, and take immediate corrective action if any issues are found.
7. Viewing, Correcting, and Deleting Your Personal Information
You may view or correct your registered personal information at any time, and you may request deletion of your ID.
If you have complaints or opinions regarding personal information, please send them to the personal information manager by e-mail at (help@Baobab Care.co.kr). We will take action immediately upon receipt and inform you of the results.
8. Protection of Children’s Personal Information
Children under the age of 14 should not send their personal information to others without permission, and must obtain their parents’ consent before sending any information.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password. Baobab Care will never ask you for your password by e-mail or any other means, so do not disclose your password under any circumstances. When you are logged on, please take special care to prevent personal information from being exposed to people around you.
